Formed in 2000 and split in 2003, Shut Up Grandad were four kids from Burgess Hill who played fast melodic punk and ska music. Released two cd's, the first being 'What you looking at E.P' and the later being 'One Year On'. All the releases were put out DIY and with playing plenty of shows, they were a common name in the local scene. Nick (bass) started the Nine Pins Promotion shows at the Junction Pub in Burgess Hill, which started the whole B'Hill punk following, and although Nine Pins isnt, the scene and the junction shows are still going today. SUG were a regular headliner at the Junction, and some of the wildest and most fun shows and times were there. They played with a selection of big named bands (Lightyear, 4ft fingers, MU330..etc) around the country. Now times have moved on, Nick and Pete (Vox) went on to form the Anti-Skeptix while Trout (guitar) did a short comedy solo act for a while. Damo? Who knows!!! The Anti-Skeptix split and now Trout and Pete are re-united with a new band called From Plan To Progress. And so the story continues.........
Thanks to Trout for the band history.
