I saw the BBMF's quite a few times at places like the Richmond, Brighton and the Joiners Arms , Southampton. Even though is was a somewhat jokey band, they were actually good players. During one song, they did a 'mosh' section which was called the pants mosh where everyone danced around a pair of pants tribal fashion placed on the floor. I found a massive pair of Y fronts in Portsmouth market ( Pompey being my home town) and sent them to the band who used them for ever more Musically, it was much in the melodic US HC vein ( 7 seconds etc)

incidently, is the band pic at the top of this thread taken when jailcell recipies played at the Nutley Arms or something ?
I remember it was considered a classic gig cause jailcells were fairly well known and this pub was right off the gig venue beaten track

Ask the person who put the gig on. Those photos are from The Shelley Arms in Nutley 11th July 1989. Jailcell Recipes / Metal Duck / BBMF's. That was JCRs second appearance there, the first was with Dr & The Crippens. They played 4 or 5 times in total. Nutley is a tiny village in the middle of nowhere, no public transport at all, to say it was off the beaten track is an understatement. I could still pull in over 100 punters though. Sadly, the pub is no more. It was knocked down to make way for a Little Chef car park.
